Hi, I’m AJ Rich (he/him), and I’m so glad you’ve found me. I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California and a licensed telehealth provider across Florida. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Psychology from California Southern University and am currently working towards my PsyD. I began my clinical training at Valley Community Counseling Clinic and Teen Line and had the privilege of being mentored in private practice by Marina Talley Chatterton. I primarily work with older teen, individual adults, and couples on a wide variety of mental health issues and concerns.
My approach is influenced by some incredible teachers. I’ve been trained in EMDR trauma therapy by Philip Manfield, who learned directly from Francine Shapiro, the founder of EMDR. I’ve also had the chance to learn from pioneers like Sue Johnson, who created Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Harville Hendrix, the mind behind Imago Couples Therapy, among others. I’ve also trained extensively in Psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, and Relational Psychotherapy. When I’m not in my private practice, I work as part of the licensed clinical staff at Coldwater Counseling Center in Los Angeles, where I oversee client intakes. If you’re looking for a therapist who’s ready to walk alongside you on your path to healing and growth, I’d love to be that person for you.
Before becoming a therapist, AJ spent nearly two decades climbing the corporate ladder before taking the leap and leaving to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a counselor. This unique perspective and changing course mid-way through life offers clients an outlook that is full of compassion and respect for each person’s individual journey that is unique to them. AJ thinks that is important for his clients to know that he has done, and is still doing, his own personal work in therapy after processing significant personal hurdles and challenges including personal EMDR therapy which prompted him to get trained.
Accepting new in-person or telehealth clients on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings and telehealth clients on alternate days and times.
Areas of Focus: Grief & Loss (in all its many forms), Men’s Mental Health, Relationships & Couples, Phase of Life Issues, Trauma, LGBT+ folks, Depression, Mood Disorders, Anxiety, & Big Life Transitions.
As a therapist, I am motivated by a genuine curiosity about your unique experience and a desire to help you uncover inner sources of strength and resilience and to deepen your self-understanding. These discoveries can help you to face current challenges that seem overwhelming and to get unstuck in parts of your life that are not working the way you want or need.
I consider it a privilege to be part of the journey of therapy with my clients, and to be a supportive witness to their growth. The dedicated space I offer in therapy, built on a strong therapeutic bond with my clients, represents an opportunity to explore new ways of being and relating that translate into productive changes in your life.
I completed my undergraduate education at Brown University and my master’s in clinical psychology at Antioch University, and did my clinical training at Counseling West. As an associate therapist, I work under the license and supervision of AJ Rich.
Accepting new in-person or telehealth clients on Saturdays & Sundays, and telehealth only on select weekdays between 6pm and 9pm.
Areas of Focus: Mid-life transitions, women’s mental health, relationship and family dynamics, childhood and intergenerational trauma, related anxiety & depression.
I’m Kristine (she/her), and I am here to support you through life’s challenges, whether you’re navigating a midlife transition, dealing with anxiety and depression, or working through a trauma or relationship issue.
My approach integrates psychodynamic therapy with a growth mindset, helping you understand your past, with cultural context in mind, to create a healthier and more fulfilling present and future.
I hold a Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and am a Professional Certified Coach. I offer in-person sessions at my office in Silverlake on weekends, making it convenient for those with busy weekday schedules, and remote sessions for all California residents on weekday evenings. Reach out for a complimentary 20-minute consultation — we can discuss your goals and see if we’re the right fit to work together. I am supervised by AJ Rich, LMFT.
Our team has experience working with adults, couples, & teenagers that struggle with anxiety, depression, communication, trauma, loss, chronic illness, and perhaps have reached an impasse with moving forward within a career, relationship, or other life events. Individuality and diversity are paramount and AJ Rich Family Therapy welcomes those that might be described as outside the box. Clients describe us as direct yet warm, empathetic, and understanding as you navigate together with us how to process the blocks that can obstruct your view and ability to move forward. Our clients can expect to explore life events from the past as patterns of behavior emerge in the here-and-now. As this self-awareness begins to develop, clients can often lead more joyful and connected lives. Our team caters each session according to that unique individual (or couple/family) using real-life examples and the material you provide to deepen your own understanding of YOU.
Choosing the right therapist can be challenging, so schedule a free video consultation to see if you feel like the connection is there. There is no better time than now to get started.
